Former contestant from Bachelor Nation, Carly Waddell, is making a change to her hairstyle following the conclusion of her engagement with Todd Allen Tressler. However, she insists this is not merely a post-breakup makeover.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, October 3, Waddell stated, “When you change your hair color in the fall, it’s not breakup hair, it’s fall hair.”
Taking a step away from her usual blonde tresses, Waddell emphasized the expenses incurred for her new hair in the caption of her post.
“Girl math,” she humorously noted, alluding to the social media trend surrounding women’s spending habits. “It’s fine to splurge on hair when you also shop at Goodwill.”
Waddell enlisted the skills of Nashville stylist Gina Micheletti from the Slay Bae salon for her hair update.
On October 4, Waddell expressed her satisfaction on Instagram Stories, stating, “@Gina.doesmyhair crushed it! ❤️❤️❤️”.
In her selfie, Waddell showcased her new hairstyle, styled in soft waves, complemented by rosy eyeshadow and matching lipstick. The previous Bachelor in Paradise contestant wore a chic, casual knit crop top tucked into khaki trousers.
Regardless of how Waddell wants to label her new look, she has officially ended her engagement to Tressler.
During a social media video posted on Wednesday, October 1, she candidly shared, “I need to be transparent with you all; I’m not wearing a ring. I ended my engagement about a month ago. We just moved to a new city, and it hasn’t been an easy choice. The timing was tough since the kids had just started their school and activities. But you know what? It is what it is.”
Waddell has a daughter, Bella, 7, and a son, Charlie, 5, with her ex-husband Evan Bass, to whom she was married from 2017 until 2020. Following her split, Waddell began dating Tressler in 2023, and they got engaged later that same year.
Waddell reflected on her situation, sharing, “I feel very at peace with this decision. My children are thriving in the new environment. Honestly, navigating dating after a divorce and with children involved is incredibly challenging, and it requires you to make hard choices for your wellbeing and that of your family. That’s my reality at the moment.”
Previously, Waddell revealed to Us Weekly her thoughts on single parenting and the dating scene just months before she initiated contact with Tressler.
Waddell once expressed to Us her romantic dreams, stating, “I imagine that one day while out for a walk, I’m going to run into this amazing man who will just sweep me off my feet. I’m manifesting that for my future… I’m currently in a great place on my own. It’s been a good setup for us, and the thought of someone coming into our life and shifting our routine is a bit unsettling.”
After reaching out to Tressler via Instagram in July 2023, she got engaged in October of that year.
Waddell celebrated the engagement with an Instagram post, saying, “Cheers to a new chapter with my dream man and the stunning ring he placed on my finger,” while showcasing her double-stone diamond ring from James Allen.
