Carolina Lansing Stuns at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris
Carolina Lansing, the granddaughter of Carolina Herrera, made a dazzling appearance at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, wearing a stunning custom-designed dress by Wes Gordon. The strapless ivory and black gathered mermaid gown was a true showstopper, subtly referencing a look from Gordon’s spring 2025 collection that was all about capturing the “wow” factor.
While Carolina’s dress certainly had its own wow factor, Gordon’s latest resort collection also exudes a sense of elegance and sophistication. The collection features a range of exquisite pieces, including a striking red gown with a goddess-like shoulderline, inspired by ancient frescoes from Pompeii. The collection also includes pieces with painterly florals and intricate embroideries reminiscent of Greek statuary.
In addition to the ancient-inspired motifs, color-blocking plays a key role in the collection. Sky blue and turquoise combinations, as well as peach and lime green pairings, add a modern twist to classic silhouettes. Among the cocktail and event dresses, a black number with a plunge-front origami bust exudes a sense of drama and sophistication.
Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey is set to hit theaters next summer, and with its ancient themes, Grecian draping and other classic motifs are bound to be a major trend in the fashion world. Wes Gordon’s resort collection, however, proves that he is ahead of the curve when it comes to timeless elegance and sophistication, steering clear of mere trendiness.
