Sherri Papini, who made headlines in 2016 after her alleged abduction and subsequent disappearance, is finally breaking her silence in a new docuseries titled “Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie.” Scheduled to air on ID on May 26 and 27, the series promises to provide a fresh perspective on the controversial case.

In the trailer for the docuseries, Papini addresses the audience, acknowledging that she may have kept some secrets but maintains the truth of her harrowing ordeal. She recounts being missing for 22 days, enduring torture, branding, and being chained to a wall. Despite the shocking details, she admits to withholding certain information.

The series delves into the conflicting narratives surrounding Papini’s claims, with various individuals offering their opinions on the matter. Some defend her character, insisting she is not capable of the accusations leveled against her, while others question the motivations behind her actions. The media’s portrayal of the case is also scrutinized, with one individual dismissing it as sensationalism.

“Caught in the Lie” retraces the events leading up to Papini’s disappearance, her alleged abduction, and her eventual return to her family. The aftermath of her 2022 arrest by federal authorities is also explored, including her ongoing custody battle with her ex-husband, Keith Papini. The series promises to offer Papini’s firsthand account of the events, shedding light on her mindset during her disappearance and the subsequent investigation into her abduction claims.

In addition to Papini, the docuseries features interviews with her parents, sister-in-law, federal authorities, former lawyer, psychologist, a podcaster who covered the case, and more. Produced by Pantheon Media Group and Lady Moon Entertainment for Investigation Discovery, “Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie” aims to provide a comprehensive look at a complex and controversial case.
