Is Siren’s Curse at Cedar Point Cursed?

A heart-stopping video captures the moment riders on the “Siren’s Curse” rollercoaster at Cedar Point had to be evacuated after it broke down for the fourth time since its opening in late June. The riders were stranded on the towering 160-foot-high tracks, but fortunately, the coaster came to a stop at the beginning of the ride, preventing any dangerous situations.

The breakdown was caused by the safety system of the rollercoaster activating before the signature tilt feature could engage, which would have left riders dangling over the midway point. According to a spokesperson for the amusement park, the safety system worked as intended, and all guests were safely escorted off the ride.

Some riders found the evacuation process more frightening than the actual ride itself. A video shared on X showcased riders slowly making their way down the evacuation stairs next to the 160-foot drop, holding onto the railing tightly.

Despite the ordeal, the passengers safely made their way down the stairs with the coaster sitting abandoned on the tower.

Several users shared their fear of heights and how the situation would have terrified them, with one user commenting that the descent was scarier than the ride itself.

The rollercoaster, touted as the tallest, longest, and fastest of its kind in the country, has experienced issues with its sensors since opening. The ride has come to a halt unexpectedly at various points on four occasions now.

From a power outage on its opening day to multiple breakdowns, including passengers being stuck on a 160-foot platform and a tilted angle for an extended period, the “Siren’s Curse” ride at Cedar Point has certainly lived up to its name.
