Charlize Theron Opens Up About Refusing to Name Director Who Harassed Her
During an interview on Wednesday, July 2, Charlize Theron shared why she still refuses to name the director who harassed her. The A-lister explained that she chooses not to reveal his name because she doesn’t want the focus to be on him. “It’s not because I’m protecting him or anything, but he got nervous for a little bit,” Theron stated.
When asked why the director felt uneasy about her sharing her story, Theron revealed, “Because he heard me tell the story, and he knew it was about him. He wrote me a pretend letter trying to explain his behavior and how I must have misunderstood it, which is classic, isn’t it?”
Theron believes that her interview with Howard Stern caused the unnamed director to start “panicking.” She recalled the moment when she confronted him, saying, “He was waiting for me, and I just realized, like, I won’t even f–king say your name because you know you’re the scumbag. You know it’s you, and if anybody ever asked me about him, I would be completely honest.”
Despite the challenges she faced, Theron remains strong and resolute in her decision not to give the director the attention he seeks. By standing firm in her resolve, she hopes to shift the focus back to her own story and experiences, rather than allowing the perpetrator to take center stage.
