Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson have recently signed with WME for representation across all areas, as reported exclusively by Variety. Despite this new partnership, the duo will continue to be represented by United Agents in the UK and Linden Entertainment.
Clive and Robertson gained recognition for their work as the “Britney” sketch comedy duo, which they successfully adapted into a BBC Three pilot in 2023. The concept for “Britney” originally stemmed from a comedy stage show that Clive co-wrote, drawing from her personal experience of being diagnosed with a brain tumor at the young age of 23.
Their latest live production, “Friends and Nothing More,” enjoyed a sold-out run at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival before making its way to London’s esteemed Soho Theatre. Currently, the talented duo is in the process of developing a half-hour comedy project in collaboration with Gloria Sanchez and Two Brothers. Both Clive and Robertson are set to not only write but also star in and executive produce the upcoming venture.
Clive, in particular, has recently been cast in an exciting role in Bill Lawrence’s college comedy series for HBO, where she will share the screen with industry heavyweights like Steve Carell and Phil Dunster. Her television credits also include appearances in “The Lazarus Project” and “Pure,” along with notable roles in films such as “All My Friends Hate Me,” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and her feature film debut in “Never Better.”
On the other hand, Robertson has been making waves with her performances in Bong Joon Ho’s feature film “Mickey 17” alongside Robert Pattinson at Warner Bros, as well as in the “Black Mirror” episode titled “Joan Is Awful,” starring Annie Murphy for the show’s seventh season on Netflix. Up next, she is set to join the cast of Lena Dunham’s Netflix series “Too Much.”
The partnership with WME marks an exciting new chapter for Clive and Robertson as they continue to make their mark in both the television and film industry. Stay tuned for more updates on their upcoming projects and collaborations.
