Chase Elliott, the talented driver from Hendrick Motorsports, recently discussed his inability to compete in the All-American 400 for Ricky Turner this season in an interview with NASCAR journalist Steven Taranto. Despite expressing his interest in participating in the event, Elliott was unaware that it was scheduled after the Cup Series finale. Upon learning that Jake Garcia had already committed to racing in the event, Elliott graciously stepped back to give the defending champion the opportunity to compete.
In a statement to the press, Elliott explained, “I don’t, honestly, right now. We had talked about the All-American at a couple different points, but I think it was after you mentioned it to me, actually, because I had no idea.” He further mentioned that Jake Garcia’s commitment to the event led him to withdraw his interest. However, Elliott hinted at a potential appearance in the Cordele SpeedFest in January 2026, although no firm decision has been made yet.
In a separate interview with stock car journalist Dalton Hopkins, Elliott shared his thoughts on the rumored playoff format for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. The current format features a 3-3-3-1 system with three races in each round leading up to the Championship 4 race. Elliott expressed his belief that a revised format with more races per round could offer a fairer competition and minimize the impact of unexpected outcomes on a driver’s championship hopes.
Chase Elliott, who has been a part of Hendrick Motorsports since 2015, has had a successful career driving for the team. Starting in the #25 Chevy as a part-time driver in his debut season, he quickly transitioned to a full-time role in the #24 Chevy before moving to the iconic #9 car in the 2018 season.
As Elliott continues to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the NASCAR Cup Series, fans eagerly anticipate his future racing endeavors. With a thoughtful approach to competition and a drive for success, Chase Elliott remains a formidable force on the track.
