ChatGPT’s Rapid Growth in User Prompts

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT is receiving a staggering 2.5 billion prompts from users worldwide every day, with approximately 330 million of these prompts coming from users in the United States. This data showcases the widespread adoption of OpenAI’s flagship product.

In comparison, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, has not disclosed daily search data but recently revealed that Google handles 5 trillion queries annually, translating to just under 14 billion daily searches. Independent researchers like Neil Patel of NP Digital estimate Google’s daily search volume to be around 13.7 billion searches. Other research from SparkToro and Datos suggests that the figure could be as high as 16.4 billion searches per day.

Despite Google’s dominance in the search market, ChatGPT has shown remarkable growth. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously stated that users were sending over 1 billion queries to ChatGPT daily in December. Altman’s latest statement indicates that the company’s search volume has more than doubled in just 8 months.
