A horrifying incident occurred in Chicago on Halloween night when a group of individuals drove down a street in the Clearing West community and unleashed a barrage of paintballs at innocent bystanders. One of the victims, Vicky Murillo, 19, was left blind in her left eye as a result of the random paintball attack.
Murillo and her friend were walking through the neighborhood when they noticed a car following them. The vehicle made a U-turn, drove back towards the teens, and began shooting paintballs at them. The young women were struck multiple times and left bleeding on the ground before being rushed to the hospital by paramedics.
The severity of Murillo’s injuries was evident as one of the shots had ruptured her eye globe, requiring emergency surgery. Unfortunately, doctors have expressed skepticism about the possibility of her regaining vision in that eye, stating that even if some vision is restored, it will likely be extremely blurry.
The senseless nature of the crime has left Murillo’s family frustrated, especially as other neighbors came forward to report similar incidents of being targeted by paintballs on Halloween night. Video evidence captured the chaos as the unknown shooters terrorized the streets, firing at unsuspecting victims with high-powered paintball guns.
Adrean, Murillo’s older brother, has been actively working with detectives to track down the culprits responsible for his sister’s injuries. He is determined to see the perpetrators face severe charges for the malicious attack that has left his sister permanently scarred.
The community is rallying around the Murillo family, with several surgeries scheduled to address her injuries. Despite the uncertainty surrounding her recovery, the family remains optimistic and hopeful for a positive outcome. Adrean is determined to seek justice for his sister and ensure that those responsible for the heinous act are held accountable for their actions.
