Juntos Films and Bandada Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance Scripted Content
Juntos Films, based in Chile, has announced a significant strategic partnership with Bandada, the newly established label led by former Fabula executive Daniel Castell. This collaboration is poised to enhance Juntos Films’ scripted content offerings across the global Spanish-speaking market while guaranteeing exclusivity for all forthcoming series. The partnership includes a first-look deal that covers both scripted and unscripted films, as well as non-fiction series.
Partners Francisco Hervé and Moisés Sepúlveda from Juntos Films are currently participating in the showrunner workshop at Iberseries & Platino Industria in Madrid, showcasing their series project, “Culpables Inocentes.”
“Our commitment has always been to create films that entertain, provoke thought, and evoke emotions,” stated Hervé, a co-founder of Juntos Films. He commented on the alliance, saying, “By combining our strengths, we are excited to expand this philosophy into premium television series.”
Among Juntos Films’ acclaimed projects is “The Fabulous Gold Harvesting Machine,” directed by Alfredo Pourailly, which was honored as the best film at festivals in Guadalajara, Sanfic, and Lima in 2024. Other notable works include “Bitter Gold” by Juan Olea, awarded in Warsaw and recognized in Cairo and India, the documentary “The Other One” by Francisco Bermejo, and the thriller “Immersion” directed by Nico Postiglione, which has gained recognition for its streaming success on Amazon Prime.
For Castell, who spent nearly a decade at Fabula as a creative producer before launching Bandada, this partnership reflects a natural evolution in his career. While at Fabula, he was instrumental in transforming the company’s TV division, successfully transitioning from a focus on the Chilean market to securing international scripted content for major streaming platforms in less than five years.
Castell’s impressive portfolio includes notable projects such as Apple TV+’s “Midnight Family,” a Spanish co-production of “A Long Petal of the Sea,” based on the novel by Isabel Allende, Netflix originals like “Baby Bandito” and “Homemade,” as well as Amazon Prime Video offerings “The Pack” and “The President.” Moreover, he has contributed to Spotify’s audio originals “Quemar tu casa” and “Creepyhunters,” both crafted by renowned writer Julio Rojas, known for “Case 63.”
“At Bandada, our mission is to create original, internationally appealing intellectual properties across film and television—innovative ideas that embrace diverse voices,” Castell explained. He emphasized the potential of this partnership, stating, “Working with Juntos enables us to amplify these concepts, utilizing our collective networks and creative strengths to produce premium series representing Latin America to the world. Juntos has a proven track record of supporting bold and unconventional narratives, making this alliance particularly thrilling.”
With Castell now part of the team, Juntos Films is well-positioned to expand its reach in the realm of premium series, leveraging his extensive experience to develop content that appeals to a global audience.
“This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us—one where Chilean stories can flourish on an international scale,” said Sepúlveda from Juntos.
