Emergency services responded to a crash at the far end of Otago Peninsula tonight, with a helicopter called in to assist. According to a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman, a car had veered into a ditch on the road leading to The Pyramids, near Papanui Inlet.
Both Portobello and Lookout Point crews, along with police and ambulance teams, were on the scene. As of 9.45pm, the extent of any injuries sustained in the crash was unknown.
Responding to the incident, a spokesperson from Hato Hone St John confirmed that one ambulance, one rapid response vehicle, and a helicopter had been dispatched. However, details regarding injuries were not immediately available.
