CNN data analyst Harry Enten recently presented some eye-opening economic polling data, and his astonishment was palpable as he revealed Republicans are garnering significantly more support than Democrats.

Enten asserted that the Democratic Party is increasingly disconnected from its traditional base—the middle class—an advantage that once bolstered their political strength. He noted that Trump and the Republican Party have effectively siphoned this critical issue away from them.

While Enten’s surprise might seem remarkable, it’s a revelation that Trump supporters have long recognized.

The Daily Caller elaborates:

“In the initial months of Donald Trump’s presidency, one would expect the Democrats to have a substantial edge regarding economic issues. But that’s not the case. It’s simply not the case,” Enten commented during his appearance on “CNN News Central” with co-host Kate Bolduan. “As of November 2023, the party that aligns closest with voters’ economic views is the Republicans, leading by 11 points. That trend continues, with Republicans now enjoying an eight-point advantage, still within the margin of error.”

“What’s happening here, Democrats? How is this even possible?” Enten queried. “Despite recession fears, fluctuations in the stock market, and widespread disapproval of tariffs, Republicans still maintain an eight-point lead on economic issues. Are we serious?”

“If this were merely a singular CNN poll, one might dismiss it. However, consider the Reuters/Ipsos data. In May 2024, just before Trump was reelected, Republicans held a nine-point advantage concerning who had the better economic plan,” he continued. “Now, in May 2025, that advantage has actually increased by three points, giving Republicans a 12-point lead on economic strategy.”

“In our latest CNN poll among registered voters, the designation of ‘the party of the middle class’ is now a tie,” Enten stated. “This underscores deeper issues within the Democratic Party. They have historically claimed the title of the middle-class advocate, but not anymore. Donald Trump and the Republican Party have seized that mantle, effectively stripping away a cornerstone of Democratic strength.”

HOLY SMOKES: CNN veteran pollster is completely FLABBERGASTED by new polling that reveals how Democrats are failing even FURTHER behind.

“How is that possible, Democrats?!”

This raises an interesting question: Is it truly surprising? What policies are Democrats proposing that genuinely benefit the middle class? Their apparent focus seems to be more aligned with issues surrounding immigration and LGBTQ+ rights rather than addressing the economic concerns of average Americans.
