A former Coast Guard veteran turned OnlyFans model has admitted to murdering a man who she claimed had raped her four years prior to the incident. Chelsea Perkins, 35, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to killing Matthew Dunmire at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio in March 2021.
Perkins traveled from Virginia to Ohio to meet Dunmire, and while hiking off-trail in the park, she shot him in the back of the head with a handgun. His body was discovered by hikers three days later. FBI investigators used various evidence, including GPS data, DNA, social media, phone records, and ballistics analysis to link Perkins to the murder.
According to a criminal complaint, Dunmire had told a co-worker that he was meeting a girl who was staying in the area for the weekend. Witnesses saw a woman matching Perkins’ description on the day of the murder, and hikers reported hearing a gunshot around the time of the incident.
It took the FBI nearly nine months to arrest Perkins, during which they found three 9mm pistols in her Virginia home, one of which matched the bullets found in Dunmire’s head. Perkins and Dunmire had known each other since high school, and Perkins had previously accused Dunmire of raping her in 2017.
Perkins served in the Coast Guard before becoming an OnlyFans model under the name Sabrina Savage. She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and using a firearm during a crime of violence on federal property. Following the murder, Dunmire’s parents attempted to seek revenge by shooting a woman they mistook for Perkins, leading to a tragic turn of events.
Perkins now faces a sentence of 20 to 25 years in prison and is set to be sentenced on September 9th. The case highlights the complexities of personal relationships, trauma, and the tragic consequences of seeking revenge.
