During his Tuesday night monologue, Stephen Colbert, host of the “Late Show,” criticized President Donald Trump and his administration for defying a Supreme Court order to bring back an immigrant who was mistakenly deported to an El Salvador prison.
Colbert highlighted the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision last week, which required the government to facilitate the release and return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
Despite the court’s ruling, Trump claimed it was in his favor and has not taken any action to comply.
Colbert pointed out the constitutional crisis at hand, emphasizing the failure of checks and balances when the president refuses to follow court orders.
He humorously compared the Supreme Court’s authority to a bathroom sign instructing employees to wash their hands, implying that Trump would ignore such a sign.
Amidst laughter from the audience, Colbert escalated the joke by mentioning Trump dipping his “pee-pee fingers” into a chicken bucket.
After a mix of laughter and groans from the audience, Colbert acknowledged the reaction with a simple “Wow.”
