Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a prominent player in investment management, has published its second-quarter 2025 investor letter for the Columbia Threadneedle Global Technology Growth Strategy. The complete letter can be downloaded here. The beginning of the quarter was marked by market volatility, driven by uncertainties surrounding global tariffs introduced by the new U.S. administration. However, the market rebounded as a more lenient trade policy was adopted. During this quarter, the composite yielded a return of 25.11% gross of fees and 24.85% net of fees, outperforming the S&P Global 1200 Information Technology Index, which returned 23.66%. Investors can also review the fund’s top five holdings, showcasing its best picks for 2025.

In its investor letter for the second quarter of 2025, the Columbia Threadneedle Global Technology Growth Strategy emphasized major stocks, particularly highlighting Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Apple Inc. stands as a leading multinational giant engaged in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of smartphones, personal computers, tablets, wearables, and accessories. Within one month, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) showed a return of 11.67%, while its stock appreciated 12.63% over the past year. As of September 22, 2025, Apple’s stock closed at $256.08 per share, boasting a market capitalization of approximately $3.8 trillion.

Columbia Threadneedle Global Technology Growth Strategy provided the following insights regarding Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in their second-quarter 2025 letter:

“Shares of technology leader Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) faced challenges during the quarter, reflecting a classic innovator’s dilemma, particularly as competitors leveraged AI advancements. Historically dominant in the smartphone and services sectors, Apple now contends with investor skepticism regarding its future. Despite exhibiting a negative absolute strategy return, which contributed to overall strategy performance, our underweight position relative to Apple proved beneficial to our relative results throughout the quarter.”

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) ranks 8th on our list of the 30 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds. Our data shows that 156 hedge fund portfolios included Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) by the end of the second quarter, a slight decline from 159 in the preceding quarter.
