Absolute NT has recently been chosen to distribute the cloud-based content aggregator Airtime in Thailand. This partnership will bring premium entertainment services to hotels, hospitality, and healthcare companies in the region without the need for additional hardware or PMS licenses. Airtime works in collaboration with leading smart TV manufacturers such as Sony, Samsung, LG, and Philips to provide access to a wide range of content from Hollywood studios like Paramount, Disney, Fox, Marvel, Dreamworks, and Universal Studios. Additionally, it offers news content from providers such as NHK-World, Bloomberg, and Euronews.
Originally launched in the United Kingdom in 2016 by Techlive International, Airtime has quickly expanded its reach to over 30 countries worldwide. The service prides itself on delivering award-winning content, often available while titles are still in theaters, including eight of the top ten box office earners from the past year. In addition to entertainment, Airtime also offers international news and lifestyle content from sources like the Global Fashion Channel and MyZen.
Frank Rittman, founding director of Absolute NT, expressed excitement about the launch of Airtime in Thailand, stating that it will revolutionize customer satisfaction for service operators in the region. Rittman, who previously held senior positions at the Motion Picture Association in the Asia-Pacific region, brings a wealth of experience to the partnership.
Absolute NT is a leading provider of non-theatrical exhibition services in the region, enabling the legal distribution of film and TV titles to commercial venues beyond traditional cinemas. Airtime offers a high degree of flexibility, with the ability to stream content at varying bitrates ranging from 1.2 Mbps to 7.2 Mbps for high-definition viewing. The platform also supports multi-language options for dubbed and subtitled content, currently available in 14 languages.
Tim Worrall, CEO of Techlive International, expressed confidence in the potential of Airtime in the Thai market, highlighting its value proposition for service operators in the region. The system allows for pay-per-view transactions via phone by scanning a QR code displayed onscreen, making it convenient for users to access premium content.
Overall, the partnership between Absolute NT and Airtime represents a significant step forward in delivering cutting-edge entertainment solutions to businesses in Thailand. With its diverse content offerings and user-friendly features, Airtime is poised to make a lasting impact in the dynamic and growing market.
