Dune Awakening, the survival MMO, introduces the Coriolis Storm as a game-changing event that reshapes the Deep Desert and forces players to adapt to a new setting. This feature aims to keep the endgame fair by preventing any single guild from dominating the PVP landscape. The storm hits every Tuesday when the servers restart, wiping out bases and resources, and players are advised to prepare Survey Probes to navigate the changed terrain.

While the Coriolis Storm affects the Deep Desert, bases in Hagga Basin remain unaffected. Players can witness the storm’s effects in Hagga Basin, with swirling dust clouds and lightning strikes adding to the immersive gameplay experience. The storm lasts for several hours, signaling a shift in the PVP dynamics once it passes. Global notifications alert players before the storm hits, giving them time to seek shelter away from the affected areas.

In addition to the Coriolis Storm, Dune Awakening features the Landsraad Cycle, a weekly event where player-run factions vote on decrees that shape the game for the coming week. The voting session begins on Sunday, with a 24-hour window for factions to cast their votes. After the voting phase, there is a suspended period before the Landsraad cycle starts on Tuesday, following the Coriolis Storm.

Players must adapt to the changes brought about by the weekly decrees voted on by the factions. The game’s landscape and gameplay mechanics can be significantly altered based on the chosen decrees, adding an element of unpredictability and strategy to the gameplay. Players can preview upcoming topics for voting by accessing the Social Tab and navigating to the Landsraad section.

Overall, the combination of the Coriolis Storm and the Landsraad Cycle in Dune Awakening offers a dynamic and engaging endgame experience for players. By incorporating these unique features, the game encourages strategic decision-making, teamwork, and adaptability, ensuring that no single faction can dominate the game indefinitely. As players navigate the ever-changing desert environment and political landscape, they must stay vigilant and prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
