During a second-quarter kickoff, Brandon Aubrey, typically a reliable kicker for the Cowboys, booted the ball out of bounds, resulting in a penalty. Replays of the incident showed that a cameraman on the sideline may have inadvertently redirected the ball towards the cheerleader. Fortunately, she appeared to recover quickly from the impact, smiling, laughing, and waving off assistance from those around her.
This unfortunate event serves as just another blunder in a season filled with disappointments for the Cowboys. The team finished with a record of 7-10 after losing their final game 23-19 to the Washington Commanders.
Despite the setbacks, the cheerleader seemed to be in good spirits following the incident. As the Cowboys miss out on the playoffs for the first time since the 2020-2021 season, it’s clear that the team has some work to do in the offseason to regroup and come back stronger.
