Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in Upper Junction, Dunedin, earlier today.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson stated that the Willowbank crew initially attended the fire on North Rd, near Cottle Rd, with one truck at around 4pm.
Upon receiving a second call indicating that the vehicle on fire was involved in a crash, additional resources were requested.
A crew from the Dunedin station arrived at the scene, only to discover that the car was not part of a crash.
The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames, and crews were diligently working to extinguish the fire, according to the spokesperson.
An on-site reporter mentioned that the road had to be closed for a period, with police present to assist with traffic management.
