Emergency responders are currently on the scene of two separate structure fires in the Southern region this morning.
A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency NZ confirmed that an Oamaru team is en route to a shed fire that was reported at approximately 11:15am today.
Initial reports indicated a backyard fire that has since extended to a 3m by 5m shed. Fortunately, there have been no reports of any injuries.
Earlier in the day, two fire crews from Te Anau and Mossburn were dispatched to a minor “smouldering” fire in the flooring of a residence in The Key, Southland around 11am.
The spokesperson reassured that there have been no injuries reported and all residents have been safely evacuated.
