The trade talks between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been heating up recently, with discussions revolving around the potential exchange of Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja. Both players are valued at INR 18 crore, making them ideal candidates for a swap, as reported by Cricbuzz.
However, the Royals have also expressed interest in acquiring Dewald Brevis from CSK. The 22-year-old batsman made a significant impact in the IPL 2025 season, scoring 225 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 180. His impressive performance earned him a spot in the Proteas’ T20I squad, and he became the most expensive player during the SA20 auction. CSK, on the other hand, is reluctant to part ways with Brevis, leaving the final decision in RR’s hands.
Jadeja, a stalwart for CSK, has been a consistent performer in the IPL, amassing 3260 runs and 170 wickets in 254 matches. Samson, similarly, has been a key player for RR, scoring 4704 runs in 177 matches, including three centuries and 26 half-centuries.
Despite his injury-shortened season last year, Samson managed to score 285 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 140.39. With a new coaching staff in place and changes in management, RR is looking to revamp their lineup for the upcoming season.
In other IPL news, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) is reportedly planning to retain Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Klaasen, who joined SRH in 2023, has been a standout performer for the franchise, scoring 1414 runs in 42 matches. He was the leading run-scorer for SRH last season, amassing 487 runs at a strike rate of 172.70. Kishan, on the other hand, contributed 354 runs at a strike rate of 152.58.
As the trade talks continue and teams prepare for the upcoming auction, the IPL landscape is set for some intriguing developments. Stay tuned for more updates on IPL 2025, live scores, match schedules, points tables, and squad announcements from CSK, MI, RCB, KKR, SRH, LSG, DC, GT, and PBKS.
