The Colorado State men’s basketball team pulled off an impressive comeback to defeat Wyoming 79-68 at Moby Arena in Fort Collins. The Rams, who had previously lost to Wyoming in January, used a strong second-half performance to secure their third consecutive victory.
With this win, Colorado State improved their overall record to 15-10 and their conference record to 6-8 in the Mountain West Conference. This game marked the final Border War matchup between the two teams before CSU transitions to the Pac-12 next season.
Head coach Ali Farokhmanesh praised the intense rivalry between the two teams, stating, “The Border War is awesome. Moby was rocking tonight and I thought our guys fed off that energy. It really sparked our run.”
Despite trailing at halftime, the Rams came out strong in the second half and managed to take the lead. Wyoming responded with a run of their own, but Colorado State fought back and ultimately secured the victory.
Leading the charge for the Rams was Jase Butler with a career-high 18 points, followed by Muniz with 15 points and Mbemba with 14. CSU’s strong shooting performance and defensive effort helped them secure the win.
The Rams will now prepare for their next game on the road against UNLV at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. as they look to continue their winning streak.
