Nicole Wallace, a prominent figure in Spanish cinema and renowned for leading roles in Prime Video’s popular international originals “Culpa Mia” and its sequel “Culpa Tuya“, has officially entered into an exclusive talent holding agreement with Amazon MGM Studios.
As part of this ambitious partnership, Wallace will collaborate with Amazon MGM Studios to identify and engage in projects that align with her talent, featuring across the extensive slate of television and film offerings available on Prime Video. The inaugural project that will see Wallace in a leading role is “Postcards From Italy“, a new English-language Italian original series conceptualized by Lisa Riccardi and Damiano Bruè, and helmed by acclaimed Oscar-winning director Jessica Yu. Yu is recognized for her impressive work on series like “13 Reasons Why“, “Only Murders in the Building“, and “The Morning Show“. This announcement was made at the Prime Video Retreat event in Ibiza earlier today.
“Postcards From Italy” portrays the comical and chaotic journey of Mia, a wealthy New York heiress who is unceremoniously dispatched by her grandfather to Palermo, left without money or luxuries, to work as a real estate agent within the family business. The production commenced in September and is a co-production involving Amazon MGM Studios and Gaumont Italia, earmarking its availability exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 nations and regions around the globe.
This newly signed holding deal comes on the heels of the remarkable success of the “Culpables” series, which is adapted from Mercedes Ron’s New York Times bestselling “Culpables” book trilogy. Both film adaptations, titled “Culpa Mía” and “Culpa Tuya“, featuring Wallace, have set records as the most-viewed international originals on Prime Video for the years 2023 and 2024.
“Nicole Wallace has resonated with a global audience through her remarkable portrayal in the Culpables franchise,” commented Nicole Clemens, Vice President and Head of International Originals at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. “Her innate ability to imbue her characters with emotional authenticity captivates viewers from diverse backgrounds. This talent agreement exemplifies our enthusiasm for Nicole’s international appeal and showcases our dedication to cultivating emerging talent capable of weaving compelling narratives for our worldwide audience.”
Wallace, who holds dual citizenship in the United States and Spain, shared, “This collaboration is a dream opportunity for me to expand my horizons, collaborate with innovative creators, and help bring meaningful narratives to fruition.”
“Preparing to embody ‘Mia’ in Postcards From Italy, under the stewardship of the visionary Jessica Yu, I’ve never felt more driven to push my creative boundaries and delve into roles with rich complexity,” Wallace elaborated. She also commended Amazon MGM Studios for their “dedication to courageous, trailblazing storytelling.”
The concluding chapter of the “Culpables” franchise, titled “Culpa Nuestra” (“Our Fault”), is set to debut on Prime Video on October 16. It has already generated significant buzz, with its trailer achieving a record-breaking 163 million views in just one week—the highest for any original streaming film.
Additionally, Wallace is set to feature in “The House of Spirits“, an upcoming limited series from Amazon Original, based in Chile. This project, produced by FilmNation and Fabula in collaboration with Eva Longoria, is slated for a 2026 release. An adaptation of Isabel Allende’s beloved novel, “The House of Spirits” casts Wallace as a young Clara del Valle and includes an impressive ensemble of Latin talent, among them Alfonso Herrera, Dolores Fonzi, and Fernanda Castillo.
Previously, the Madrid-based actress gained notoriety for her role in the limited series “Ni Una Mas” (“Raising Voices”), which is based on Miguel Saez Carral’s acclaimed novel. The series was a pivotal hit, garnering 25.4 million viewers on Netflix, positioning it as the service’s most-watched non-English language drama for two consecutive weeks. She first captured attention in the Spanish adaptation of the hit Norwegian series “Skam“.
