Cult Gaia Pre-Fall Collection: Embracing Brand DNA with a Twist
Designer Jasmin Larian Hekmat faced the challenge of meeting the constant demand for newness each season. Instead of completely reinventing the wheel for pre-fall, she decided to focus on what Cult Gaia does best – creating easy-breezy vacation staples that can be worn year-round. “This season, we really doubled down on our brand DNA and what makes Cult Gaia what it is,” she explained. “But we also introduced some new things.”
For this collection, Hekmat showcased hand-crocheted mini dresses in white and butter-yellow plissés with knotted detailing, perfect for a getaway. She also included more formal pieces like a black Grecian gown with cutouts and brass detailing, maintaining the playful essence that Cult Gaia is known for. Accessories played a crucial role, with bamboo-style brass embellishments added to bags, cuffs, and heels, offering a glamorous touch inspired by nature. “I wanted to create pieces that ignite conversation and joy,” Hekmat emphasized.
While some offerings seemed more subdued than the brand’s usual joyful aesthetic, there was a deliberate shift towards simplicity. Hekmat introduced a simple white tee with an intriguing high neckline, aiming to encourage customers to invest in pieces for everyday wear, not just special occasions. The collection also ventured into leather with a boxy moto jacket and paneled mini skirt, aligning with the brand’s goal of expanding beyond upbeat summer garments. However, while stark minimalism was undeniably chic, it seemed somewhat at odds with Cult Gaia’s overall spirit.
Integrating this unique and fashion-forward collection into your wardrobe will not only elevate your style but also spark conversations and joy wherever you go. Stay tuned for more updates and releases from Cult Gaia as they continue to redefine contemporary fashion with their distinctive brand DNA.
