The artist behind the viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” D4vd, has experienced an incredible surge in streaming numbers following the discovery of a dismembered body in the trunk of his Tesla. This shocking development has drawn attention to an official music video that features him dragging a body to the back of a car.
Born in New York, D4vd’s popularity is skyrocketing as authorities investigate how the remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez ended up in his vehicle in the Hollywood Hills, just one day after her 15th birthday.
His breakout song, “Romantic Homicide,” has risen to No. 8 on Spotify’s daily charts, marking its highest position since it exploded on TikTok in 2022. Other singles, like “Feel It” and “Here With Me,” have also seen a renewed spike in streams amid the ongoing investigations surrounding the disturbing incident.
Interest in D4vd’s music videos has surged, particularly the unsettling video for “One More Dance,” which has been shared widely due to its uncanny resemblance to the real-life events unfolding.
In the official music video, released earlier this year, D4vd appears covered in blood as he drags a body before placing it in a car’s trunk.
This video has already amassed over 3.9 million views on YouTube.
Despite the ongoing scrutiny, the singer, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has not been arrested or charged in the ongoing investigation.
Days prior, D4vd canceled the remainder of his world tour, including shows across the US and Europe, as inquiries continue.
Although police have not labeled D4vd a suspect in Rivas Hernandez’s death, LAPD detectives raided a residence in Hollywood Hills where the artist had been staying, collecting various pieces of evidence.
This raid coincided with the revelations of links between D4vd and the teenager that were surfacing in the media.
Previous screenshots from D4vd’s Discord fan server indicated that he was rumored to have been in a relationship with a teen named “Celeste” before Rivas Hernandez was found dead.
D4vd, who has over 2 million followers on Instagram, was known to have recorded an unreleased song where he mentions the name “Celeste” multiple times.
Additionally, various photos have surfaced depicting the star with a young woman who closely resembles Rivas Hernandez, whose mother recently mentioned to TMZ that her daughter had been involved with someone named “David.”
The body of Rivas Hernandez was located on September 8, a day after her 15th birthday, in a Hollywood tow yard after the Tesla was towed.
She had reportedly been missing since she was 13, as indicated by her family’s reports.
D4vd’s representatives have stated that he is fully cooperating with the investigation.
