Authorities believe that young runaway Celeste Rivas Hernandez may have been deceased for “several weeks” before her remains were discovered in D4vd’s abandoned Tesla in Los Angeles, according to police reports – with revelations that the singer’s car was ticketed 11 days prior to the discovery.
The investigation into the girl’s death commenced following the grim finding of her decomposed body on September 8, after the “Romantic Homicide” artist’s vehicle was towed from a Hollywood Hills street.
This chilling revelation occurred just one day after Celeste’s 15th birthday, confirming that she was only 14 at the time of her passing. The car had received a parking citation nearly two weeks earlier, as reported by the LA Times, citing law enforcement sources.
“We are aware that the Tesla had been parked at the tow location for multiple weeks, which strongly indicates that Celeste Rivas Hernandez had passed away several weeks prior to the discovery of her body,” stated LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams in an interview with People.
Authorities are actively working to ascertain how long the vehicle had remained parked at the site.
Initial investigations revealed that a parking inspector marked the tires of the Tesla on August 27, with a citation subsequently issued on September 3, according to sources.
<pThe car was eventually towed, but it wasn't until a foul odor was reported by tow lot employees that the girl’s remains were discovered days later.
“The Los Angeles County medical examiner has yet to determine the cause and manner of her death, so we cannot confirm if there is criminal liability related to her death, aside from concealing her body,” added Williams.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has not been officially identified as a suspect in this disturbing case.
His team has previously stated that the singer-songwriter, who gained significant popularity through TikTok, is fully cooperating with investigators.
In a related development, investigators executed a search at the Hollywood Hills residence where the artist had been living, retrieving “multiple pieces of evidence” while links between the teenager and the pop star continue to surface.
Law enforcement has declined to speculate on the specifics of their relationship.
“We are examining all avenues,” commented Williams. “Regarding their relationship, it would be premature to make any statements.”
Earlier, screenshots from an old conversation on D4vd’s Discord fan server suggested he may have been in a relationship with a teen named “Celeste” prior to Rivas Hernandez’s tragic demise.
D4vd also referenced a name “Celeste” in an unreleased track, coinciding with comments from her mother about the teen dating someone named “David.”
