Dani Guindo, a Spanish artist based in Reykjavík, captures the ethereal beauty of Icelandic landscapes through his stunning aerial photography. His work focuses on the interplay of light, form, and atmosphere in the ever-changing weather conditions and glacial terrain of Iceland.
Using drones, Guindo explores a variety of perspectives, from expansive views of glaciers and mountains to close-up shots of meandering streams that almost resemble abstract paintings. His latest series, titled Terminus, showcases the intricate network of streams flowing from the Múlajökull glacier, revealing the glacier’s history through its unique formations.

Múlajökull is a surge-type glacier, characterized by periods of rapid movement followed by periods of stagnation or retreat. Guindo captures the glacier’s unique features, including drumlins and lakes with varying shades of blue and green, creating a mesmerizing visual narrative of the glacier’s evolution.
“Múlajökull is a very isolated glacier outlet, surrounded by a chaotic maze of rivers and marshlands, making an approach on foot almost impossible,” Guindo explains. “With the right wind conditions, I was able to fly my drone close to the glacier, capturing some of my favorite shots to date.”
