Danielle Fishel has exposed the harsh reality of her leg injury acquired during her participation on Dancing With the Stars.
On September 26, the Boy Meets World actress, now 44, shared an unfiltered snapshot of her injured leg via TikTok. The video captured a massive, purple bruise stretching from her mid-thigh down to below her kneeâa striking reminder of the physical toll of reality television.
In her post, she humorously remarked, âHow I talk to my knees after four weeks of rehearsals and two live shows,â accompanied by a lip-sync performance to Destiny’s Child’s “Cater 2 U.” The lyrics resonated with her situation: âBaby, I see you working hard / Wanna let you know Iâm proud, let you know that I admire what you do.â
Keeping a lighthearted approach, Fishel noted in her post, âI promise my leg feels better than it looks đ @Dancing with the Stars #DWTS #dwts.â This TikTok update followed her revelation during training footage aired on September 23, where she disclosed a âhamstring tearâ as the root of her struggles.
After the injury, she sought relief through deep tissue massageâthough it reportedly âbroke every blood vessel in the back of [her] leg.â She candidly admitted, âI am pushing through the pain.â

In an interview with Us Weekly after the broadcast, Fishel detailed the âbiggest challengeâ was managing her self-care amid the demanding rehearsal schedule while grappling with her injury. âItâs been the care Iâve had to put into taking care of myself morning, afternoon, and evening,â she clarified. âWhen youâre nursing an injury, thereâs a required regimen of alternating ice and heat, elevating, compressing, and frequent physical therapy sessions.â
With a busy agenda, Fishel found it tough to prioritize her recovery. âI had to meet with a surgeon to see if I needed more intensive treatments whilst balancing a grueling rehearsal schedule. Finding time to care for myself has been, without a doubt, the biggest hurdle.â
Currently competing on season 34 of the show, Fishel is navigating this challenging experience with her dance partner, Pasha Pashkov, carefully tailoring routines that account for her injury. âGoing into this week, we were aware of the legâs limitations, so we adjusted the choreography to minimize stress on her injured side,â Pashkov, 39, explained. âThroughout the week, we also simplified some elements to accommodate her healing process.â
Fishel, who shot to fame playing Topanga Lawrence on Boy Meets World from 1993 to 2000, now co-hosts the podcast âPod Meets Worldâ alongside her former co-stars, Rider Strong and Will Friedle.
