Actress Dasha Nekrasova has recently found herself in hot water after far-right commentator Nick Fuentes made an appearance on her podcast “Red Scare,” which she co-hosts with Anna Khachiyan. This controversial move has led to Nekrasova being fired by her talent agency, Gersh, as confirmed by a spokesperson to Variety.
The podcast episode in question, uploaded to YouTube on Oct. 10, delved into various topics including Fuentes’ controversial rise in popularity, the Charlie Kirk assassination, immigration, Kanye West, vaccines, and the “Groyper army.” Fuentes, known for his involvement in the so-called “Groyper” movement, has faced criticism for espousing racist and antisemitic beliefs. In a recent New York Times article, he was described as a white nationalist who advocates for an exclusive, “pro-white,” Christian movement while disparaging “organized Jewry” for undermining American cohesion.
Nekrasova, known for her role as Comfrey Pellits on the hit show “Succession,” has also appeared in other TV shows like “The Serpent,” “Dickinson,” and “Mr. Robot.” Her film credits include “Materialists” and “The Scary of Sixty-First,” which she not only starred in but also wrote and directed. Despite her professional success, Nekrasova has faced backlash for her controversial statements in the past, such as questioning the legitimacy of Pope Francis and making inflammatory remarks about Freemasons and Jews infiltrating the Church.
The fallout from Nekrasova’s association with Fuentes highlights the growing scrutiny faced by public figures for their connections to individuals with extremist ideologies. As the entertainment industry grapples with issues of accountability and responsibility, Nekrasova’s dismissal serves as a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of aligning oneself with controversial figures.
