David Moreno, a talented artist based in Barcelona, creates stunning sculptures using thin rods of steel. His towering houses and cascading villages reflect the architecture of our lives, often incorporating anthropomorphic and anatomical elements that suggest skeletons or beating hearts.

One of Moreno’s pieces, titled “Construcción en cabeza—Cabeza en construcción,” features a hillside-like foundation in the form of a face. Another work, “Resumen 2020,” is a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and resembles a human skull silhouette.

Moreno’s sculptures showcase a balance between rigidity and fluidity, as he manipulates thick wire into solid walls or curving arcs. In “La vie en rose,” gabled structures cling precariously to their supports, referencing the sprawling favelas of Rio de Janeiro.

The artist is currently working on a new three-meter-wide installation for an architecture firm in Miami. Additionally, he has been creating smaller pendant designs based on his larger sculptures in gold and silver. To see more of Moreno’s work, visit his Behance profile and follow him on Instagram.
