The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Teaser Reveals Return of Maggie and Negan

The anticipation for the second season of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” reached a new high as the first teaser was unveiled at New York Comic Con. Fans were thrilled to see that Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s Negan will be making a comeback in the AMC drama series in Spring 2025.

The NYCC panel offered a sneak peek into the upcoming season of the “Walking Dead” spin-off. The panel included AMC’s “Walking Dead” franchise chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, executive producers and stars Morgan and Cohan (who will also be directing an episode this season), along with cast members Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, and Dascha Polanco.

“The Walking Dead: Dead City” follows Maggie and Negan as they navigate through a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, isolated from the mainland. The city is overrun by the undead and survivors who have created their own chaotic society amidst the ruins.

In the upcoming season, Maggie and Negan find themselves on opposing sides in the battle for control of Manhattan. As their paths cross, they realize that the only way out is more complex and dangerous than they had ever imagined.

Gimple hinted at the possibility of characters from the original “Walking Dead” series making appearances in future seasons of “Dead City,” adding to the interconnected nature of the franchise.

Season 1 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” premiered in June 2023 with six episodes and has been airing on AMC and AMC+.
