As ICE agents bravely strive to secure our borders and safeguard our communities, they are encountering a staggering 700% increase in assaults—an alarming trend that appears to stem from incendiary rhetoric originating from Democratic politicians.
Recent incidents illustrate the escalating violence:
- On July 4, a group of 11 individuals attacked an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas. They vandalized vehicles with anti-ICE messages such as “ICE pig” and “F— you pigs,” before enticing officers out of the building and opening fire, injuring one officer in the neck.
- On the same day, violent demonstrators assaulted federal agents at an ICE facility in Portland, Oregon. Officers were subjected to kicks, punches, and even targeted with an “incendiary device.”
- On July 7, a man opened fire at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas. The attack involved dozens of gunshots aimed at the building and its occupants, leaving two police officers and a Border Patrol employee hospitalized.
This wave of violence is fueled by reckless rhetoric from Democratic leaders:
- Rep. Hakeem Jeffries urged the public to “fight” the Trump Administration “in the streets” and proclaimed that ICE agents “will be unsuccessful” in concealing their identities “no matter what it takes.”
- Rep. Pramila Jayapal described ICE agents as “deranged” and stated that obstructing immigration enforcement is “inspiring.”
- Rep. LaMonica McIver, who was charged with “forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers,” called on her supporters to “shut down the city” as we are “at war.”
- Governor Tim Walz labeled ICE agents as the “modern-day Gestapo.”
- Boston Mayor Michelle Wu compared ICE agents to the neo-Nazi group NSC-131.
- Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson accused “secret police” of “terrorizing our communities.”
- Senator Bernie Sanders called for immediate action to “stop ICE from what they are doing.”
- Rep. Kweisi Mfume challenged the Trump Administration to “a street fight.”
- Rep. Stephen Lynch characterized ICE agents as “the Gestapo” and “nondescript thugs.”
- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stated that ICE “should not exist.”
- Rep. Becca Balint referred to ICE agents as “vigilantes” who cannot be trusted.
- Rep. Eric Swalwell declared it was his “priority” to ensure ICE agents “are no longer faceless,” likening them to “bank robbers from the 1800s or KGB officers in Russia.”
- Rep. Dan Goldman compared federal agents to “secret police” who must be exposed.
- Rep. Jerry Nadler accused ICE agents of “hiding misbehavior,” questioning their need for masks.
