A black bear that was recently spotted roaming across metro Denver was successfully captured near an Aurora home and relocated to a more suitable habitat, as reported by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
The bear had been seen in Lone Tree and in the backyard of a residence in Arapahoe County before being sighted near the 27500 block of East Elmhurst Place on Saturday, according to sheriff’s officials.
Responding to the situation, police, fire crews, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials worked together to tranquilize the bear with a dart.
A video shared by the sheriff’s office captured the bear wandering near an Aurora home before being safely transported to a new habitat by a CPW official.
