Former CEO Jonathan Czaja Acquires The Pro’s Closet, Freebird, and Jane

Jonathan Czaja, who recently stepped down as the CEO of three companies, including The Pro’s Closet, Freebird, and Jane, is now the owner of these businesses. Czaja purchased the companies from Yasser Elshair of Elshair Cos., an Arizona private equity firm, last week. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Bikes and boots are very different, but the similarities are strong brand followings, big customers, and loyal audiences,” Czaja stated in an interview with BusinessDen.

Elshair had acquired and revitalized the companies over the past two years. He bought and restructured TPC in the fall of 2024, rescued Jane from receivership in the same year, and acquired Freebird in August for $500,000.

Czaja had previously led TPC before its closure. After Elshair’s acquisitions, Czaja was appointed to lead all three companies. However, he later decided to step down due to disagreements with Elshair on the way forward.

Through his investment firm Freewheel Capital, Czaja ended up buying the companies shortly after his departure. He emphasized that the companies faced financial difficulties unrelated to their brand reputation.

TPC, under the leadership of Chief Revenue Officer Justin England and Chief Operating Officer JP Gage, has achieved $12 million in sales this year, with expectations to double in 2026. The company aims for sustainable growth, focusing on online sales and operational efficiency.

Freebird, with a new store at Park Meadows mall and plans for further expansion, is showing promising early results. The company is fulfilling 7,000 orders weekly and anticipates over $20 million in sales next year.

Similarly, Jane, an e-commerce fashion site, is being restructured by Czaja, who intends to centralize business functions and acquire more e-commerce brands. He aims to maintain industry expertise within each business while also preserving a local Denver presence.
