A tragic discovery was made as the Denver hairstylist, Jax Gratton, who had been missing since April 15, was found dead, as announced by her mother on Saturday. The news was shared in a Facebook group dedicated to finding her daughter, where her mother expressed the deep grief they were experiencing.
Over 5,100 people had joined the group in the efforts to locate the 34-year-old hairstylist during the nearly two months that she was missing. Gratton was last seen on East Iliff Avenue, and her body was found in a Lakewood alley on West Colfax Avenue.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to positively identify the body and determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, the community is coming together to remember Jax Gratton and reflect on the importance of safety and equality for all.
Friends and family are planning to gather in front of Denver’s City and County Building to honor Jax’s memory and discuss the impact of her tragic death on the LGBTQIA+ community.
