21-Year-Old Motorcycle Rider Arrested for Vehicular Homicide After Fatal Crash in Denver
A 21-year-old motorcycle rider has been taken into custody on suspicion of vehicular homicide following a tragic incident in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood, as announced by the police on Friday.
The fatal crash occurred near southbound Interstate 25 and Park Avenue West around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Denver Police Department.
Due to the severity of the crash, southbound I-25 was shut down from I-70 to 20th Street for more than two hours.
Tragically, a passenger on the motorcycle succumbed to their injuries, while the driver, identified as Jacob Blackmon, was taken into custody the following day.
Authorities suspect that speed played a significant role in the crash, according to Denver police statements. Blackmon is currently being held at the Downtown Detention Center without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14, as per jail records.
