Denver Skiers and Snowboarders Can Shred at Ruby Hill Rail Yard

Denver skiers and snowboarders looking to shred in city limits can make the trek to the Ruby Hill Rail Yard starting Sunday to try out newly designed rails, boxes, and configurations.

The free urban terrain park, a collaboration between Denver Parks and Recreation and Winter Park Resort, will be open until March, weather permitting, according to city officials.

Featuring options for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced, the new park is set to offer an exciting experience for all visitors.

Free weekend equipment rentals, including snowboards, boots, helmets, and snow tubes, will be available starting Feb. 2 courtesy of Parks and Recreation.

Located off South Platte River Drive and West Florida Avenue, Ruby Hill Park is open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the rail yard lit up from 4 to 9 p.m.

Free equipment rentals are offered on Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Throughout the season, the rail yard will host free community events such as the Burton Mystery Series on Feb. 8 and CoreNation Rail Jam on March 1.
