Denzil Patrick: Celebrating Family, Community, and Creative Freedom in London
Designers Daniel Gayle and James Bosley of Denzil Patrick have always gone beyond the traditional concept of designing for a specific “woman” or “man.” Instead, they draw inspiration from their family and community, incorporating the aesthetics of various characters into their collections. The brand, now in its fifth year, takes its name from Gayle’s two grandfathers, reflecting a deep connection to their roots.
For their Fall 2026 collection, Gayle and Bosley envisioned how their impeccably dressed grandfathers would navigate the streets of modern-day London. The duo, known for their strong house codes and attention to detail, felt confident after the success of their pre-fall collection. This allowed them to create a smaller, more focused offering that truly reflected their vision.
Bosley emphasized the importance of having set structures and house codes, which provide them with the freedom to explore and experiment within their own creative space. This approach has resulted in a unique and cohesive aesthetic that sets Denzil Patrick apart in the fashion world.
The Fall 2026 collection showcased the brand’s commitment to precision tailoring and bold statement pieces. From gorpy red jackets with feather detailing to molded feathered cravats paired with Japanese crepe suits, each garment celebrated individuality and self-expression. The use of lived-in fabrics and intricate detailing added depth and character to the collection.
Experimentation with silhouettes and technical fabrics played a key role in bridging the gap between traditional and modern styles. Sporty nylon jackets were juxtaposed with sumptuous black velvet tailcoats, while chunky rib knits featured embroidered appliqué panels for a touch of whimsy. Prints inspired by retro carpets and spray-painted floral fabrics added a nostalgic touch to the collection.
Despite their rising popularity and recognition in the fashion industry, Denzil Patrick remains true to their roots and values. The brand continues to attract a diverse range of clientele, from red-carpet celebrities to athletes and tech professionals. Their recent inclusion in the Costume Institute’s permanent collection is a testament to their unique perspective and creative vision.
