Fashion resale platform Depop has officially launched a new feature known as “Outfits,” aimed at users who are enthusiastic about crafting unique fashion collages. This innovative tool offers a mood board-like experience where users can design and share stylistic outfits with their followers, providing inspiration for their future looks.
To utilize the Outfits feature, users simply choose an item to style and click the scissors icon to access a variety of customization options. These options include selecting colorful backgrounds and adjusting image sizes and placements, along with templates that serve as layout guides.
Moreover, every item showcased within the collages is shoppable. In the event that a chosen item sells out, Depop presents alternatives to similar products, ensuring users have options available.
This new addition allows sellers an effective way to spotlight their available items, presenting them in styled collages that can attract potential buyers by demonstrating how clothing and accessories can be combined.
Users have the capability to share these curated outfit images across numerous social media platforms, including Pinterest and Instagram. This move appears to be a calculated effort by Depop to engage its predominant Gen Z audience, who have shown a growing interest in collages.
For context, Pinterest released its own collage-making app named Shuffles in 2022, quickly integrating Shuffles functionality into its main app due to popularity.
According to Depop, the Outfits feature is now accessible to all users within the Depop app.
