Trump is once again making headlines for his threats of legal action, this time targeting The Des Moines Register and their former pollster. In a recent outburst, Trump claimed that the newspaper’s pollster had predicted his loss in Iowa just days before the election, which he vehemently disagrees with.

During a press conference, Trump stated, “I have a few others that I’m doing I’m going to, as an example, we’re bringing, I’m doing this not because I want to, I’m doing this because I feel I have an obligation to. I’m going to be bringing one against the people in Iowa, their newspaper, which had a very good pollster who got me right all the time.”

These threats of legal action are nothing new for Trump, who has a history of using lawsuits as a way to intimidate and silence his critics. In this case, it seems that Trump is trying to control the narrative surrounding his popularity and is willing to go to extreme measures to do so.

The Des Moines Register should not back down in the face of Trump’s threats. Instead, they should dare him to sue and stand firm in their reporting. By standing up to Trump, the newspaper can send a powerful message about the importance of a free press and the need to hold those in power accountable.

It is clear that Trump is trying to manipulate the media to suit his own agenda. The Des Moines Register must resist this pressure and continue to report the truth, even in the face of legal threats. By doing so, they can uphold the principles of journalism and ensure that the public has access to accurate and unbiased information.

In the end, Trump’s lawsuit is unlikely to hold up in court. The Des Moines Register should not be afraid of Trump’s legal threats and should instead embrace the opportunity to defend the freedom of the press. By doing so, they can set an example for other media outlets and show that they will not be intimidated by those in power.
