The New York Yankees’ star player and captain, Aaron Judge, showcased his power once again by hitting his 15th home run of the 2025 season against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. The towering shot, measuring 444 feet and clocking in at an exit velocity of 117.7 mph, came in the eighth inning off Mariners pitcher Carlos Vargas. This pivotal hit gave the Yankees a 3-2 lead, ultimately leading them to victory in the final game of their series against the Mariners.

Sportswriter Sarah Langs highlighted that this home run marked Judge’s 11th career blast with an exit velocity exceeding 117 mph since his debut in 2015, including postseason play. However, it is worth noting that another Yankees slugger, Giancarlo Stanton, holds the record for hitting 22 such home runs with similar exit velocities. Despite his impressive performance, Stanton is currently sidelined for the 2025 season due to an elbow injury, placing him on the 60-day injured list.

Aaron Judge, who joined the Yankees in 2016, has become a cornerstone of the franchise with his powerful hitting and leadership on and off the field. In contrast, Giancarlo Stanton, who started his career with the Florida Marlins in 2010 before joining the Yankees in 2017, boasts an illustrious resume that includes five All-Star selections, a National League MVP award, two Silver Slugger Awards, and an ALCS MVP honor.

Reflecting on Giancarlo Stanton’s resurgence in the 2024 season, Aaron Judge commended his teammate’s dedication and resilience. Stanton’s standout performance in the postseason, where he recorded a .273 batting average with seven home runs and 16 RBIs in 14 games, earned him praise from Judge. The Yankees captain expressed his admiration for Stanton’s work ethic and clutch performances, recognizing the impact he has on the team.

While Giancarlo Stanton has accumulated 429 career home runs and 1,103 RBIs with a .257 batting average, Aaron Judge has notched 330 home runs, 757 RBIs, and maintains a career batting average of .293. Both players bring a unique skill set to the Yankees lineup, contributing to the team’s success on the field.

As the Yankees continue their pursuit of a championship, the dynamic duo of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton remains a formidable force in the league. Their combined power and consistency at the plate make them a formidable duo to watch, as they aim to lead the Yankees to postseason glory once again.
