Ground Commitment: U.S. Troops in Israel for Peace Initiatives
Following the remarkable achievement of encouraging dialogue between Israel and Hamas, the next precarious step involves executing the agreements and solidifying a ceasefire.
In this context, the U.S. Central Command is poised to employ troops based at the coordination center within Israel.
The primary mission is articulated as supporting and overseeing the ceasefire accord between Hamas and Israel, according to a U.S. official quoted by ABC.
ABC News revealed:
âThe official emphasized that no U.S. military personnel will be sent into Gaza; rather, 200 servicemembers will be based inside Israel.â
âAside from monitoring the ceasefire, the coordination center will aid in facilitating humanitarian, logistical, and security efforts directed towards Gaza,â the official elaborated.
