Authorities are currently investigating the apparent explosion at an LASD facility in Monterey Park, where at least three individuals have lost their lives.
The incident was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Friday at the LASD’s SEB compound, which accommodates the sheriff’s department’s special enforcement units and bomb squad.
Initial observations suggest that the explosion may have occurred near a law enforcement vehicle, as per footage from AIR7.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department has responded to the scene, but it remains unclear whether there were additional injuries.
