A Republican candidate, Diamant Hysenaj, is confident that his background as a real-estate developer and his experience with war in Kosovo will help him defeat Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“I came to the US as a young immigrant and faced challenges in The Bronx,” said Hysenaj, who is the president of DCG New York, a construction and building firm. “Despite the odds, I have achieved the American Dream through hard work and perseverance.”

Hysenaj’s upbringing in Kosovo and his journey as an immigrant have shaped his perspective on representing the diverse 14th House District in New York. He believes his story resonates with many immigrants and dreamers in the district.

“My background in Kosovo and my experiences during the war have prepared me to fight for the people of NY-14,” Hysenaj stated.

He further added, “I am running for Congress to address issues such as public safety, immigration reform, and infrastructure improvements in our district, unlike AOC who prioritizes socialist ideologies over the needs of her constituents.”

Despite facing challenges such as the 2008 recession and personal tragedies, Hysenaj remains committed to the American Dream and believes in a government that represents all voices, not just the elite.

Ocasio-Cortez, on the other hand, is seeking re-election in a heavily Democratic district and has gained popularity among progressive voters. However, Hysenaj remains determined to offer a different perspective and approach to governance in the district.

As the political landscape evolves, the race between Hysenaj and Ocasio-Cortez will be closely watched by constituents in NY-14.
