Despite leading with the highest number of nominations, Swift did not participate in the ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25.
Swift previously emerged as the frontrunner in the AMAs nominations this year, receiving eight nominations in various categories. She was nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Female Pop Artist, Album of the Year, and Best Pop Album for The Life of a Showgirl, as well as Song of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Song for “The Fate of Ophelia,” and Song of the Summer for “Elizabeth Taylor.”
Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, released in October 2025, delves into her relationship with fiancé Travis Kelce. The couple began dating in the summer of 2023 after Kelce attended her Eras Tour, and they announced their engagement in August 2025.
Reflecting on the album during the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards earlier this year, Swift stated, “This album probably also feels very happy and confident and free because that’s the way that I get to feel every single day of my life because of my fiancé, who is here tonight. So, thanks for the vibes.”
