Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Ex-Girlfriend Cassie to Testify at Sex-Trafficking Trial
Cassie, the ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, is set to be one of the first witnesses at his federal trial for sex trafficking. Prosecutors have revealed that she could take the stand as soon as Monday, following two other witnesses including an escort and a minor.
The final stage of jury selection has been delayed until Monday morning, with concerns raised by Combs’ lawyers about potential jurors asking to be dismissed due to security concerns. The selected jurors will be sworn in on Monday and hear the opening statements from both sides.
Key evidence in the trial includes footage of Combs assaulting Cassie in a hotel in 2016. Prosecutors have requested breaks for Cassie, who is pregnant, every 90 minutes during her testimony.
Combs is currently in a Brooklyn lockup without bail, with the prosecution arguing that he is a danger to society and has attempted to contact witnesses in the case. The charges against him include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
His defense team plans to argue that the alleged “Freak-Offs” were consensual and a part of his private life, not criminal activities. The trial is expected to last two months.
