The world is mourning the loss of renowned artist and conservative commentator Scott Adams, best known for creating the iconic comic strip Dilbert. Adams passed away at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer. His ex-wife, Shelly Miles, announced his death just hours after revealing that Adams had only a few days left to live.

Adams, who resided in New York, had been receiving end-of-life care at his home in recent months. His creation, Dilbert, which first debuted in 1989, depicted the humorous and often absurd office antics of a lovable office worker and his faithful dog.

In a poignant moment during a live stream of his podcast, Real Coffee with Scott Adams, Miles read out a final letter written by Adams to his fans. In the letter, Adams revealed that he had converted to Christianity on his deathbed, expressing his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Despite not being a believer, Adams acknowledged the appeal of finding solace in faith as he faced the end of his life. He expressed hope for spending eternity with Jesus and signed off with a humble plea, “I hope I’m still qualified for entry.”

Prior to his passing, Adams had issued a somber health update on his podcast, acknowledging the grim reality of his prognosis. Despite seeking alternative treatment options, including a plea to former President Donald Trump for assistance with his cancer treatment, Adams ultimately succumbed to his illness.

Adams’ legacy was marred by controversy in his final days, following inflammatory remarks he made about race in America. His comments on a poll regarding attitudes towards race led to backlash and the eventual discontinuation of Dilbert in several publications. Adams defended himself, citing hyperbole in his statements and expressing regret for the impact on his reputation and livelihood.

His contributions to the world of comic art and conservative discourse leave a lasting impact on fans and critics alike. May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to spark conversation and reflection for years to come.
