The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team recently gathered at the residence of their batting coach, Dinesh Karthik, in Chennai. This get-together took place ahead of their upcoming IPL 2025 clash against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, March 28.
The entire RCB squad, along with the support staff, enjoyed a casual evening at Karthik’s house. They were seen relaxing, indulging in food and drinks, and having a good time in a beautifully decorated outdoor space illuminated with lights. Dinesh Karthik shared a video of the gathering on his official Instagram account, captioning it as “Welcome to my Anbuden.”
RCB kicked off their IPL 2025 campaign with a convincing seven-wicket victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens. Dinesh Karthik, who previously played for RCB in 2015 and returned for three seasons in 2022 before retiring post the 2024 season, now serves as the team’s batting coach.
The upcoming match against CSK in Chennai poses a significant challenge for RCB, considering their poor track record at the venue. Out of nine matches played between the two teams in Chennai, RCB has managed to secure just one victory, suffering defeat in eight encounters. Their sole win against CSK in Chennai dates back to 2008, making it around 17 years since their last triumph at the venue.
In overall head-to-head stats, CSK holds a dominant position with 21 wins out of 33 matches against RCB’s 11 victories. The Bengaluru-based franchise will be eager to break the Chennai jinx this time around and capitalize on the momentum from their successful start against KKR. On the other hand, CSK also began their IPL 2025 campaign on a positive note by defeating the Mumbai Indians in their opening fixture.
With both teams entering the upcoming clash on the back of victories, the contest promises to be an exciting and closely fought encounter. Fans can look forward to an intense battle between RCB and CSK as they strive to continue their winning momentum in the tournament.
