Bomanbridge Media and Sinking Ship Entertainment Secure Major Broadcast Deals in Asia
Bomanbridge Media and Sinking Ship Entertainment have announced significant broadcast sales for their children’s series “Dino Dex” and “Odd Squad U.K.” in key Asian territories.
One of the highlights is the sale of “Dino Dex” (13 x 22′) to China’s Youku and Japan’s NHK. NHK will air the series on both its 4K and E-Tele channels, while Thai PBS and NOW TV in Hong Kong have also acquired the show. This expansion into major Asian markets is a testament to the global appeal of the franchise.
“Dino Dex” is a spin-off of the successful “Dino Dana” series and follows the adventures of Dex, a nine-year-old aspiring paleontologist. With the help of his Dino Field Guide, Dex explores the world of dinosaurs in a magical and educational way. The series will debut on NHK’s E-Tele channel and Youku’s platform later this year, bringing back the original cast members from “Dino Dana.”
“Odd Squad U.K.” (12 x 22′), a co-production between Sinking Ship Entertainment and BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions, has also been picked up by NHK and NOW TV. The show continues to attract international audiences with its unique blend of entertainment and education.
These broadcast deals come on the heels of Sinking Ship’s recent partnerships for “Dino Dex” with ITVX Kids, ABC Kids, beIN MEDIA GROUP, and Hop!. The series has already garnered success with original partners like Amazon Kids+ and TVOkids. Sonia Fleck, CEO of Bomanbridge Media, expressed excitement about the growth of the “Dino Dex” and “Odd Squad” franchises in Asia.
In addition to traditional broadcasting, Sinking Ship’s dinosaur franchise has seen success on digital platforms. The Dino Kids YouTube channel has over 1.7 million subscribers and 1.6 billion views, showcasing the series’ widespread popularity.
Established in 2009, Bomanbridge Media operates from Singapore and London, facilitating global co-productions and broadcast partnerships. The company’s diverse catalogue includes over 5,000 hours of content spanning various genres.
