Disney Promotes Jimmy Zasowski to President of Platform Distribution
Disney has announced the promotion of Jimmy Zasowski to the position of president of platform distribution for the Disney Entertainment and ESPN brands. Zasowski, who has been with Disney since 2009, previously held the role of executive vice president of platform distribution strategy. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading global distribution efforts across Disney’s entertainment and sports media businesses.
In addition to Zasowski’s promotion, Disney has expanded the role of Sean Breen, who currently serves as executive vice president of platform distribution sales. Breen will now oversee distribution sales for global accounts and the North American business, as well as the EMEA, LATAM, and APAC regions.
According to Disney, Zasowski will be responsible for leading the distribution and monetization of Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming services, linear portfolio, and film and television programming. He will also oversee distribution-related business operations and content licensing globally.
Zasowski will report to Disney Entertainment Co-Chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, as well as ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. In a joint statement, Bergman, Walden, and Pitaro expressed their confidence in Zasowski’s leadership abilities and strategic vision for the company’s distribution efforts.
Zasowski himself commented on his new role, stating, “I’m honored to lead the best distribution and content sales team in the industry. I look forward to strengthening our partnerships and expanding access to Disney’s top-notch content in the ever-evolving media landscape.”
